Apex Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The Indianapolis Apex did just enough to secure a victory over the Death Valley Scorpions, 4-3, at The Brickyard. Nobody did more than pitcher Calvin Ball. Romeo McFlourish recorded the save for Indianapolis, his 2nd of the season. The Apex, now 18-8, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

Making an impact for the home team was Dee Fernandez. In the bottom of the fifth, the slugging second baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Apex.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Indianapolis skipper . "I can't complain."
