Detroit parlayed a decent outing from starter Goaty McGoatFace into a solid win over the Cancun Toros. The final score was 4-2. McGoatFace, now 5-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Thorne Belfour, who finished 3rd in the Champions in saves with 13 in 2070, nailed down the save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Zen Bobrist? The 2070 Rookie of the Year Award winner Bobrist stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Detroit up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Bobrist said.
The loss makes Cancun 16-11.
