In a tight contest between the Providence Crabs and the Vancouver Vandals, Joe Random was the determining factor. The Providence right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. Random, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks. The win elevated the Crabs to 17-10.

Providence used the timely hitting of Boyz II Chess Back Again to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Crabs on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Back Again.
