Raptors Popped by Sloths, 7-3
|
San Antonio Sloths starter Johnny Tatum pitched a strong game against the Boise Raptors at The Treehouse, leading the Sloths to victory, 7-3. Tatum, now 2-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. San Antonio is 9-19 and Boise, with the loss, 11-17.
Les Skoden had a big 2-run home run for the Sloths in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Antonio leading 4-3 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a cutter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Nicky Vaseline and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Sloths on top, 6-3.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said San Antonio manager .
