With 7-3 Win, Stars Improve to 17-12
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Nashville pitcher Phil Donoghue did his part in helping his team beat the Indianapolis Apex, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Donoghue picked up the win for Nashville, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2.
Nashville used a well-timed hit by Bailey Jones to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Stars ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Jones told the Nashville Gazette.
With the win, Nashville upped its record to 17-12.
