Holly Sheet pitched a gem to lead Vancouver to victory over the Boise Raptors, 2-1. In 6 innings, Sheet surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Alejandro Abasi wrapped it up, recording his 5th save.
The Vandals got a big at-bat from right fielder Pierre Phillip. For the game, Phillip was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Vancouver a 2-1 lead.
"We needed two runs to win," said Vandals manager , "and that's what we got."
Vancouver is now 18-12.
