Dimpley Splorger made an impact in the 5-4 Buffalo win over Providence. Splorger, who finished 5th in the Legends in RBI with 81 last year, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Ren Toltraid picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-2. He struck out 3 in 8.1 innings. Picking up the save was Minerva Madson, his 1st.
Splorger had a key at-bat for Buffalo early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and gave Buffalo an early 2-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Splorger said.
The win for the Surge raised their record to 19-11.
