Voyagers Send Boise Home with 7-6 Loss
|
The New York Voyagers and Boise Raptors obliged fans looking for a good time.
The Boise Raptors could not turn a fine performance from left fielder Romain Gauthier into a win. Instead, the New York Voyagers prevailed, 7-6. Gauthier was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. New York pitcher Taylor Adkins earned the win, hiking his record to 4-1. Marsh Mellow Jr. suffered the loss.
Diego Ramieriez had a big 2-run home run for the Voyagers in the bottom of the first inning. With New York leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Marsh Mellow Jr. and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Voyagers on top, 3-0.
"We've hit a lull," said Boise manager .
The Raptors, at 12-19, have lost 6 in a row.
