The Death Valley Scorpions took Indianapolis pitcher Calm Chicken's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Brickyard. The final score had Death Valley getting past the Apex, 3-1. Chicken went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 10. The Scorpions, now 22-9, have won 8 in a row.

Bass Reeves, who is on pace for 66 RBI this season, had a direct impact on the outcome. Reeves contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Death Valley up, 2-1.
