8-6 Apex Win over Scorpions Evens Season Record
|
Flop Quads, who finished 3rd in the Champions in saves with 13 last year, propelled his team to victory over the Death Valley Scorpions. The final score was 8-6, Indianapolis. Quads, now 5-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The victory gives the Apex a record of 16-16.
Indianapolis third baseman Brent Goldberg contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 33rd hit of the season and put the Apex ahead, 3-2.
"We maximized our offense today," said Indianapolis skipper . "That makes everyone's life easier."
