The Death Valley Scorpions overcame a pretty good performance by Lunar Base shortstop A.J. Justice, beating the Space Rangers, 9-8, at Lunar Base SkyDome. Justice was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3. Earning his 1st save of the year was Dennis Martinez. The Scorpions improved to 11-21.

The Space Rangers had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Scorpions going into the top of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old designated hitter Laser Show came to the plate. Show hit a run-scoring double on a 0-2 slider from Lunar Base hurler Ian Rubbish. It was Show's 7th double of the year.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Death Valley manager .
