Death Valley Scorpions starter Deviver Votto kept the Indianapolis Apex hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. The losing streak for Indianapolis has now reached 4 games.

Death Valley catcher Daniel Plainview contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Scorpions ahead, 2-1.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Votto said.
