Voyagers Lick Raptors, 13-2
|
New York and Boise took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The New York Voyagers captured an easy win, 13-2, over the Boise Raptors at Hammond Park. Kanutake MeHire led the offensive barrage, going 3-for-5 for New York. DefinitelyNot EvilDictator, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 5-3.
New York used a clutch at-bat from Isuro Tanaka to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Voyagers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said MeHire. "And not try to do too much."
The Raptors, at 15-18, have lost 4 straight games.
