Stars Fall Short, 4-3, at Boise
|
The Nashville Stars got a sterling performance from pitcher Mac John, but the Boise Raptors still prevailed, 4-3. John threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Boise reliever Romeo McFlourish picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Shota Takahashi was saddled with the loss. With this game in the books, Boise is 16-18, Nashville 22-12.
Had Rodrigo Wallach not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Wallach hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Raptors.
"We did enough to win," said Wallach.
