The Outer Banks Aviators locked up a win at The Island, knocking off the Death Valley Scorpions, 4-1. On the mound for Outer Banks was right-hander Sniper King. He played a major role in the triumph. Goro Shigeno finished to wrap up his 2nd save. Outer Banks is now 18-16, while Death Valley is 12-22.
The Aviators got a big hit from second baseman Robert Oliver. Facing Death Valley pitcher Guy Roussy in the bottom of the fifth, Oliver pounded a 2-run home run to left-center. His 4th home run of the season put the Aviators ahead, 2-1.
"When you win, you always have confidence," said Outer Banks skipper . "Nobody likes to lose. Losing is a downer. That's how we look at it. It's always good to win."
