Tight Tilt Goes to Crabs, 4-3
|
The Providence Crabs defeated the Indianapolis Apex, 4-3, at The Pot. Providence third baseman Philip Alou had a superb performance. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Franklin Judge Cruiser got the win, improving to 1-6. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Theodore Furnace closed the game out for Providence, earning his 1st save.
Barry Allen, the Providence first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 4-1, Crabs. For the game, Allen went 1-3 with a walk.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Allen told the Providence Herald. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
Providence, with the win, sits at 11-26.
