Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Indianapolis Apex home opener. Ichabod Kranepool started for the home team against Korrin Abernathy Jr. for the Detroit Demons. The Apex were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-3, Detroit. Korrin Abernathy Jr., though, was impressive. Abernathy Jr. picked up the win for Detroit, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 10 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Picking up the save was Thorne Belfour, his 1st.

The result might have been different for Detroit, had it not been for Link Althouse, the 24-year old designated hitter . Althouse stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Detroit up, 6-3. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Althouse told the Detroit Today. "It's as simple as that."
