Death Valley and Detroit duked it out and the Scorpions came out victorious.

Behind a solid performance from third baseman Daniel Plainview, the Death Valley Scorpions defeated the Detroit Demons, 8-6. Plainview went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Scorpions. The winning pitcher was Xavier Pruitt. He tossed 107 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits.

With Death Valley leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, Plainview hit a run-scoring single off Detroit hurler Shohei Ohtani. It was the 39th hit of the season for Plainview and put his team ahead, 6-4.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Plainview told the Death Valley News.
