Flamingos Win at Kansas City, 4-1
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Kansas City Hepcats home opener. Taylor Adkins started for the home team against Wade Cilliams Jr. for the Florida Flamingos. The Hepcats were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-1, Florida. Wade Cilliams Jr., though, was impressive. Barry Balls collected save number 1.
Ryan Dinger, the 21-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Dinger contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Florida up, 2-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Dinger said.
