Firehawks Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
The California Firehawks satisfied the home crowd at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons, treating them to a season-opening win, 5-1, over the Puerto Rico Ranas. Starting Pitcher Thor Lore was the standout performer for California. Lore went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0.

Gus Beavers, who is the 8th-best prospect in the Firehawks organization, chipped in for California with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
