The Anchorage Wheelers inaugurated the 2075 campaign with a disappointing 4-1 loss to the Puerto Rico Ranas at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. Puerto Rico first baseman Pcott Soe [BOT] had a big impact on the outcome. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jean Girard [BOT], the winner, goes to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Earning his 1st save of the year was Jerry Berry [BOT].

The game turned with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Soe [BOT] hit a solo home run off Scud Muffin. It propelled the Ranas into the lead, 2-1.
