Brummer Slugs Ranas to 4-2 Win
|
The performance of Cai Brummer proved critical in helping Puerto Rico beat California, 4-2. The Ranas left fielder slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Daniel Armstrong nailed down his 1st save. The loss puts California at 0-2.
Had Brummer not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Brummer hit a run-scoring single. The Ranas took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
"It was a solid team effort," said Brummer after the game.
