Florida Gets 6-5 Win Against Lemurs
|
In a tight contest at Colby Koffman Championship Field at The Jungle, the Florida Flamingos edged the Louisville Lemurs by the score of 6-5. Florida first baseman Darius Maxwell, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Florida starter Daithi Kennedy-Senan was credited with the win after throwing 96 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. With the win, Florida lifts its record to 3-2.
With Florida trailing 5-4 in the top of the fifth, Maxwell hit a fastball from Carmichael Finch for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Flamingos ahead, 6-5.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Maxwell told reporters after the game.
