Wheelers Drop Kingpins, 9-6
|
The Anchorage Wheelers beat the Chicago Kingpins, 9-6, at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium. The win was due in part to catcher Parker Steele, who went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Leegull Iztampuring picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Leeroy Jenkins was tagged with the loss. Anchorage is now 2-3.
Steele had a timely hit for Anchorage in the top of the seventh. With Chicago trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-2 screwball into a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 6-3, Anchorage.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Steele.
