Behind a solid performance from first baseman JD Pants, the Chicago Kingpins defeated the Amarillo Armadillos, 15-5. Pants was 3-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Kingpins. Oskar Von Kautz got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1.

Chicago shortstop Dave Babipperson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 9th hit of the season and put the Kingpins ahead, 5-3.
