Swift Steeds Deal Armadillos 4-2 Loss
|
The State College Swift Steeds and Amarillo Armadillos played an exciting game.
State College pitcher Jackson Ramirez did his part in helping his team beat the Amarillo Armadillos, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Ramirez, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The save was credited to Nero Mantics, his 1st.
In the top of the sixth, State College first baseman Kota Mizushima had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and two out, Mizushima stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-2, State College. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Mizushima.
Amarillo now has a record of 4-3.
