Wheelers Rally to Win
|
The timely hitting of Enrique Checo helped the Anchorage Wheelers down the Puerto Rico Ranas, 6-3. Checo went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Wheelers. Greg Buse earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-1. Anchorage sits at 2-5.
Anchorage used the timely hitting of Rex Jordan to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wheelers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Anchorage manager called it "a darn good win."
