Hepcats Win at Florida, 5-1
|
Kansas City Hepcats starter Elijah Miller hurled his team past the Florida Flamingos, 5-1. In 5.2 innings, Miller surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Matt Buster saved it for Kansas City.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Niklavs Stavinskis? The Kansas City shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hepcats on top, 2-1. For the game, Stavinskis had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Kansas City manager . "It's usually not just one thing."
The win takes Kansas City to 6-1.
