Firehawks Get Past Anchorage for 2-1 Win
|
The California Firehawks faced a tough opponent in Anchorage pitcher Joshua Chambers, but did just enough to pull out the victory at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons by a final score of 2-1. Chambers went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The Firehawks, now 6-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Bradley Wellerman Jr. was the walk-off hero for California. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Firehawks shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said , the California manager.
