Flamingos Deal Wheelers 8-5 Loss
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Walker Texas-Ranger, the Anchorage Wheelers lost to the Florida Flamingos, 8-5. Texas-Ranger went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Matt Kumtowski was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Florida goes to 5-3 with the win.
Florida used the bat of Chase Hunter to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"It was a solid team effort," said Hunter after the game.
