Greer Powers Flamingos to 8-4 Win
|
The Florida Flamingos trumped the Kansas City Hepcats, 8-4, at Florida Man Park. Florida center fielder Alan Greer was terrific. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Hank [BOT] claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 1-0. The Flamingos raised their record to 5-3.
With Florida trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Greer hit a sinker from Chih-Wei Lee for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Flamingos ahead, 4-2.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Greer, "and then get after it again."
