Anchorage and California duked it out and the Wheelers came out victorious.
Despite a great performance by California third baseman Slate Grey, the Anchorage Wheelers defeated the Firehawks by the score of 6-4 at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. Grey was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Pythagoras. He tossed 87 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits.
Stetson Laramie hit a run-scoring double off Crabby Pebbles in the bottom of the third, which put the Wheelers in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Laramie had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Laramie said.
The Wheelers, now 7-2, have been playing some good baseball.
