Ranas Hand State College 4-0 Loss
|
Puerto Rico Ranas starter Jean Girard [BOT] found his groove in his team's 4-0 win over the State College Swift Steeds . Girard [BOT], the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 4 walks. The save was credited to Harry Berry [BOT], his 1st.
Daddy Blaney [BOT] had a big solo home run for the Ranas in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Puerto Rico leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a sinker from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Spencer Bearer and swatted a home run to left. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ranas ahead, 2-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Blaney [BOT] said after the game.
State College is 4-5 after the defeat.
