Kansas City beat Puerto Rico on the strength of starting pitcher A Bird's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Porygon Two snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Batting Practice [BOT] suffered the loss. Matthew Murdock got credit for the save for Kansas City. It was his 1st of the year.

Air Yordong had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Kansas City. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Kansas City in front, 3-1.
