Wheelers Curb Hepcats, 3-1
|
Anchorage turned a good performance from starting pitcher Wham A Geddon into a 3-1 triumph over the Kansas City Hepcats at Center for Kansas City Kids That Can't Read Good. Geddon picked up the win for Anchorage, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. George Fantobens notched his 2nd save of the season.
The Wheelers had to work out of trouble with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Anchorage. But Kansas City, with the bases empty, had mounted a threat. Martin Walker dug in at the plate. But on a first pitch slider, Walker flied out.
Anchorage goes to 5-5.
