Backstop Lifts Swift Steeds to 11-6 Triumph
A good performance from catcher Dusty Backstop helped the State College Swift Steeds defeat the California Firehawks, 11-6. Backstop was 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Swift Steeds . Kris Rice got the win, improving to 3-0. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 2. State College sits at 7-5.

State College used a well-timed hit by Rice Shower to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Swift Steeds ahead, 5-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
