The California Firehawks beat the Louisville Lemurs, 15-4, at Colby Koffman Championship Field at The Jungle. The Firehawks got a fine performance from left fielder Theodore Batsmith, who went 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Mid AtBest picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. John Waffle was tagged with the loss. California, now 9-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Batsmith delivered big-time for California, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off John Waffle. The game-changing hit put the Firehawks on top, 5-4.

"Nice win for us," said Batsmith. "Now we'll go after the next one."
