Hepcats Get 5-3 Win Versus Brew City
|
Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House was the site of a competitive game between the Brew City Bears and Kansas City Hepcats.
The Kansas City Hepcats weathered a fine game by Brew City first baseman Bobs Bigboy to upend the Bears, 5-3, at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. Bigboy was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kansas City starter A Bird was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. Rohn Jocker was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Kansas City used a clutch at-bat from Kif Kroker to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Hepcats ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Kansas City manager commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
The Bears fall to 5-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2077 season.
