Bears Deal Kansas City 5-2 Defeat
|
At Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House, the Kansas City Hepcats and Brew City Bears were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Brew City right-hander Aoife Carter pitched his team to victory over the Kansas City Hepcats at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. The final score was 5-2. Carter picked up the win for Brew City, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The save went to The Pizzanator III, his 3rd this season.
Tater MacCheesy had a big 2-run double for the Bears in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Brew City leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher A Bird and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bears ahead, 3-0.
"It was a solid team effort," MacCheesy said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
Kansas City, with the loss, is still a hardy 9-4.
