Ranas Slap 3-1 Loss on Florida
|
The Puerto Rico Ranas earned a close win over the Florida Flamingos, thanks in part to Batting Practice [BOT]. The Puerto Rico right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Practice [BOT] got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Ranas are off to a tough start, getting just their 4th win in 14 games.
Puerto Rico right fielder Ted Hitchcock [BOT] helped the Ranas go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Hitchcock [BOT] hit a run-scoring single off Florida pitcher Tugg Boat.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Hitchcock [BOT] told a Puerto Rico Observer reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
