Flamingos Pick Up 4-2 Road Win Over California
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Ryan Dinger, the Florida Flamingos defeated the California Firehawks, 4-2. Dinger went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Flamingos. Joseph Reed picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. John Valek IV was tagged with the loss. The save went to Colt Falcon, his 3rd this season.
With Florida trailing 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Dinger hit a slider from John Valek IV for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Flamingos ahead, 3-2.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said California skipper , "and it cost us."
For the Firehawks, the loss makes their record 5-9.
