Wheelers Pull Out Late-Game Win, 3-2
|
The Anchorage Wheelers and Chicago Kingpins played an exciting game.
The Anchorage Wheelers had to overcome a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Jazz Hands to win, 3-2, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. Hands went 8.1 innings and allowed 1 run. With the loss, Chicago drops to 6-9.
Ángel de la Fuerte was the walk-off hero for Anchorage. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wheelers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The ending was a real humdinger," de la Fuerte told reporters after the game.
