6-3 Win Takes Swift Steeds to 10-5
|
Edward Mackinlay impressed in the 6-3 State College win over Kansas City. Mackinlay, who is rated as the 95th best prospect by BNN, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Chicken Noods. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 2. The loss puts Kansas City at 7-8.
Mackinlay contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for State College in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Mackinlay took a knuckle curve from Stuart Hooker and stroked the home run to left-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Swift Steeds to leap in front, 3-1.
Mackinlay called the win "a collective effort."
