Florida Gets 4-1 Win
|
The Florida Flamingos beat the Chicago Kingpins, 4-1, at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium. The Flamingos got a fine performance from second baseman Antony Joy, who went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs. The winning pitcher was George Georgeas. His record is now 2-1. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits for the Flamingos. Now 7-9, the Kingpins have not played well this season.
With Florida leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Joy hit a fastball from Nicholas Huizenga for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Flamingos ahead, 4-1.
"It was a solid team effort," said Joy after the game.
