Buffalo got a valiant performance from pitcher Rotgut Whiskey, but it wasn't enough to beat the Vancouver Vandals. Vancouver won the game, 3-2. Whiskey threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The save was credited to Capsaicin Shrub, his 1st. Buffalo now is 2-3.

Vancouver needed the clutch hitting of Jerry Mander to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Vandals on top, 3-2. For the game, Mander had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"I still think this team can play even better," Mander told the Vancouver Daily.
