Outer Banks catcher Curtis Jones helped his team beat the Vancouver Vandals, 5-3. Jones, who finished 2nd in the Legends in OPS with .921 in 2076, went 3 for 4 for the Aviators. Sniper King, the winning pitcher, is now 7-3. He went 6.1 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits, while fanning 9 and walking 3. The win makes Outer Banks 24-14.
The Aviators had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-3, Outer Banks, with one out. Vancouver, with a runner on 2nd, was mounting a threat. Akshay Hrishikesh dug in at the plate, but on a 1-0 cutter, he flied out.
