Demons Suffer 6-2 Setback
|
Brian Eshleman III, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2076, was locked in. The left-hander led the New Orleans Rougarous to a 6-2 win against the Detroit Demons at Full Moon Stadium. With the win over Detroit, the Rougarous improved to 19-20.
Harry Callahan, who led the Champions in doubles with 47 in 2073, took Detroit hurler Thorne Belfour deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Rougarous on top, 4-2. In all, Callahan had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Eshleman III. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
