Outer Banks 2-1 Losers to Crabs
|
The Providence Crabs had to overcome a good performance from Outer Banks pitcher Lanky Schramm to claim a 2-1 win at The Island. Schramm went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. With the win, Providence upped its record to 24-17.
Providence used a well-timed hit by Beryl Summers to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Crabs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Tough loss," said Outer Banks manager . "This one will sting for a while."
