The Indianapolis Apex and Death Valley Scorpions provided some drama for the home crowd.

Kerry Keli had a good game, but he could not keep the Indianapolis Apex from falling, 7-6, to the Death Valley Scorpions at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. The Indianapolis first baseman went 3-5 with 3 doubles. He drove in 5 runs in the loss. Death Valley is second in the Champions Conference West with a record of 28-17.

Had Ted Giannoulas not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Giannoulas hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Scorpions.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Death Valley manager .
