Rosenthal Helps Apex Defeat Demons, 9-1
|
The Indianapolis Apex downed the Detroit Demons, 9-1. The hitting star was catcher Leon Rosenthal. Rosenthal went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for the Apex. Biggus Tittious Smittious, the winning pitcher, improved to 7-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The third-place Apex lifted their record to 20-26.
With Indianapolis leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Rosenthal hit a sinker from Remy Lebeau for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Apex ahead, 4-0.
