The outcome might have been different for Death Valley, had it not been for Yvonne Escence, the slick-fielding center fielder . Escence stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Death Valley up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
