Heeler Slams 5 Hits for Death Valley
A jubilant Bandit Heeler joined the postgame press conference at Full Moon Stadium to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the New Orleans Rougarous pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Death Valley Scorpions catcher, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 13-3 Scorpions win.

"He made it look easy," said , manager of the Rougarous. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Bandit Heeler singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

So far this season, Heeler has put up a .278 batting average with 52 hits, 3 home runs and 19 RBIs.
