Scorpions Rally to Nose Past Seattle
Deviver Votto, who is tied for 8th in the Champions in wins with 5, had a strong outing for the Death Valley Scorpions against the Seattle Sea Serpents at The Aquadome. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Death Valley pitcher Ray Xavier got the win, upping his record to 5-0. Kip Treadwell got the loss. The triumph puts Death Valley at 33-15 for the season.

Death Valley won the game in part because of Xicoyotl Montalbán. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Scorpions ahead, 3-1. For the game, Montalbán had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Montalbán, "one at-bat at a time."
