The Death Valley Scorpions picked up a win at Cari Price Memorial Stadium, downing the Indianapolis Apex, 7-4. On the mound for Death Valley was right-hander Guy Roussy, who played a pivotal role in the win. Lanky Schramm got credit for the save for Death Valley. It was his 1st of the year. The first-place Scorpions have won 5 straight.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Lanky Schramm didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Indianapolis trailing 5-4, Schramm retired Dave Babipperson to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Schramm, with a wink.
